Here is the Mexican Black Howler male letting us know who ran the show at the top of the El Pillar Mayan pyramid. I had a guide from Crystal Paradise Resort take me to this un-excavated structure just north of San Ignacio, Cayo, Belize for some spectacular birding. During our hike to the top of the pyramid to look for King Vultures and black eagles on the early morning thermals we ran into this group of monkeys relaxing in the highest part of the forest. This vocal male carried on for 15 minutes and then got another male in another troop going 200 or 300 meters south of us. It was a noisy place for a while but what an experience.
