. . . from a First Class window seat! By some fluke, I did not have an assigned seat when the airport vending machine spit out my boarding pass in Charlotte, NC. At the gate, they told me to stand by and wait--they'd 'get to me'. I waited and waited. Boarding began. No seat yet for me. I watched my husband board to sit 'alone'. (He doesn't like to fly.) Finally, after everyone was on, the agent flung a pass at me, saying, "It's your lucky day!" I was in the front row of First Class! It was a smooth and uneventful flight in a roomy seat with a view unobstructed by a wing (my usual situation).
