It's rather hard to find a specific, useful writeup on this fascinating retablo and its history. This particular piece seems rather new. The historic (red) one has been shown in another image of mine. Will copy below. It is housed upstairs, behind the large gold altar seen above. The virgin figure moves back and forth according to the mass schedule. When she is on view for a service, she appears as we see above. When not showing there, she is visible in the red retablo upstairs. She travels on a little rail!
