This is from our room at the Hacienda Chichen in Yucatan. What a delight each day to see one of these creations greet you when you return at midday! The figures differed; the man room-cleaner who sculpts these has quite a repertoire. My favorite was his 'little nun'. I don't think my photo of her turned out very well. Will check. It's made from 3-5 washcloths, as I remember, perhaps fewer. The little feet of this swan are made from green hibiscus blossom bases (forget what the botanists call them). The rest of the flower is tucked into the folds of the wings. Enjoy!
