“Outside of the village, just a little further than the shot of an aquebus there is a monastery of the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor. Their vaulted church construction is of stone, their cloister is of four rooms with very tall hallways and many windows”. This is how the Convent of Sisal was described by Blas González, Alonso de Villanueva y Juan Gutiérrez Picón, members of the original group of founders of Valladolid on 8 April 1579.
