Puerto Morelos Why this is called a Brown Pelican, when it's so colorful, I'll never know. The other ones you can see in my photo stream that are uniformly brown are also called Brown Pelicans. Another mystery of the universe... Anyway, this guy was hanging out by the small fishing pier, waiting for scraps to be thrown his way by some fishermen. They threw the scraps in the opposite direction from him, but he never paddled over there. He was either really dumb, or really full.
