This colonial mansion was designed by the architect of the Payanés Marcelino Pérez de Arroyo in a neo-classical style. Beginning in 1906, it was the residence of the Colombian poet Guillermo Valencia Castillo (1863-1943). Upon his death, the Colombian state acquired the property and created the Museo Nacional Guillermo Valencia. The interior remains unchanged and features lots of period furniture. It is seen here from the Puente del Humilladero, brick bridge crossing the Río Molino that was completed in 1873.
