Guatemala. This is one of the twin pyramids of the so called Lost World Complex (Mundo Perdido) at Tikal. The Mundo Perdido was the section of the city which was most recently discovered. Exacavation there only began in 1979. The Lost World also happens to be the oldest part of the city. Both pyramids were originally constructed around 600 BC but were added to or modified several time, This one reached its final form in the 4th century AD. At that time at 30 m in height it was the tallest pyramid in the Mayan world, hence the name. My following pic will show its twin.
