The Eastern wall of the Nunnery Quadrangle, the Middle/Late Classic Maya site of Uxmal, Yucatan, Mexico (c. 890-906 C.E.)

There is an inscription in Maya glyphs over the leftmost door that pins down what is probably the date of completion of the complex to 906 C.E. This was a stunningly original piece of architecture -- but then, Uxmal has an abundance of those, and they all seem to date to the rule of a single ruler known (for short) as Lord Chahk (c. 870's - 915 C.E.)
