Monumento a La Patria (Monument to the Homeland), located at a busy traffic circle along Pasejo de Montejo, was designed by Colombian artist Rómulo Rozo in 1956. The circular carved stone Mayan-style monument features more than 300 hand-carved figures representing the history of Mexico from the founding of Tenochtitlan through the mid-twentieth century.
