Closing vaulted spaces, as a final act in construction, was also a cause for celebration and calendrical recording. This is shown in the inscription of this capstone from Room 36 of the Acropolis in Ek Balam: "[On the day] 2 Men in the eighth Chakat [2 Men 8 sip or 9.17.12.5.15, 13 March 783 AD] the room was closed, the precinct of Ukit Kan Le'k [Tok']."
