Evidence of Hacienda Petac's long history remains to this day. This room's 30-foot ceiling and 11-foot colonial doors aren't simply luxuries--they're purpose driven. In the plantation days the room served as a henequen threshing facility. The antique equipment used to manufacture sisal from henequen can still be found at other haciendas in the region. www.travelandleisure.com/articles/meridas-moment/2
