Prior to 2000 Hacienda Petac was an estate in need of serious renovation. The good news? All the original architectural elements were still in place (many Mexican haciendas suffered from poorly executed nineteenth and twentieth century renovations). Throughout the Hacienda's restoration the architect and current owners were careful to remain true to the estate's original construction. Baroque stone arches, Moorish-style arches and arcades, wall stencils, and hand-turned spindles were all meticulously restored to "like-new" condition.
