A shortage of mad dogs and Englishmen by this point in the day, with the sun high overhead and the temperature into the upper 90s. We wrapped up as soon as we could and skedaddled. Well, I says skedaddled, but we weren't skedaddling very fast by that point, especially with the heavy equipment having to go down the steep steps. I'd rolled my ankle earlier in the day so was a bit hobbled, too.
