The workshop was intended mostly to focus (sorry) on the Mayan ruins scattered around the Merida area. Unfortunately the location for the first day was closed due to last-minute works. Fortunately, there was a fascinating ruined sisal rope-making factory right next door. What made it fascinating was that, while it was interesting enough to look at in its ruined state...it was still operating! The building, despite being mostly gone, still had one part of it in operation. We managed to get permission to look around a bit, and take photos of the place.
