After another 15, 20 minutes, we arrived at the prized Paseo de Montejo, where historical mansions, top-notch restaurants, and shops congregate. We stopped by El Apapacho for an early dinner. El Apapacho is an artsy, homey spot featuring homestyle Mexican cooking, art exhibits & a feminist bookstore. I had a simple vegetable curry dish with rice and beans. The cactus in the red curry is spectacular. I really love the flavor and texture of cactus. I wish there were more dishes like this in Seattle. Afterward, we walked around to check out the glamorous masons lined up on the avenue. They were now converted to restaurants or event venues.
