A few years ago, I went with a group tour into this cavern somewhere in the Yucatan peninsula. I couldn't remember exactly where it was. But it was part of my journey to discover the ancient Mayan culture. As the cavern was kind of long and steep, I did not bring my tripod.with me. Inside this chamber as shown, the tour guide told us the Mayans made their sacrifice with humans and animals. I wanted to get at a good shot at it without any people in my frame, so I had to wait until everybody left. I was the last one behind holding my breath while resting my two elbows on the ground as if they were my tripod for a long exposure. I could hear my heart beat and it was pumping fast. I felt like there was someone watching behind me, but I knew everyone had left the chamber already, When I was done with my shots, I pretty much ran for my life trying to catch up with my tour group. The eerie experience had left me quite an impression of this place. I hope my image shows it all.
